Richard L. Owens, co pilot of the plane that crashed last night, received his transport pilot wings yesterday in New York. He told his roommate Lloyd Rheinhardt, also a co pilot, about a celebration, but Rheinhardt had to fly the New York Detroit Chicago route that night. The plan changed and Rheinhardt went to Washington while Owens took the Chicago run.
