Mail Plane Crash Kills Pilot Near Mount Vernon Ohio

E M Kane pilot of the Cleveland Louisville mail plane for Universal Lines was burned to death when his craft crashed into trees on a Mount Vernon area farm eight miles southwest of the city. Foggy conditions caused disorientation as farmers heard the plane circling at 540 am before a blaze erupted. Most mail aboard was destroyed. Kane was a veteran pilot who had recently joined Universal Lines. his home address was not known by officials.

Couple Found Dead After Domestic Tragedy in San Antonio

Three men Roy V. Pugh from Tulsa W. W. Sirkel of Seminole and Clyde Weston died when their car exploded in Hot Springs Arkansas. The powerful blast levelled the coupe and shattered nearby windows as debris flew hundreds of feet. Authorities suspected nitroglycerine due to the force of the explosion.

Real estate developer John Dees shoots mechanic in Fuqua Building

In Amarillo a gunfight at the Fuqua Building on Polk Street left Finis Brown fatally wounded after four shots from an automatic pistol. John Dees surrendered to police claiming Brown threatened him. Dees released on bond as inquest is planned. Brown, a World War veteran and garageman, died en route to hospital.
