Treats and pumpkins lead fall market and snack guide
Kansas City supplies a mushroom treat in pint cartons while pumpkins peak with steady prices. Potato prices may rise by November with higher support prices. Portales ships roasted and raw peanuts, slightly cheaper than last year. Texas carrots remain steady as harvest continues. For Halloween snacks, apples on sticks coated in molasses sugar and butter, made with 1 cup each molasses and sugar, cider vinegar, salt, water, and 2 tablespoons butter, yields about 12 apples.
