Two Hurt In Crash Rest Well

An Amarillo woman Mrs Weldon died in a head on collision on the Canyon Highway ten miles south of Amarillo. W L Weldon and R M Wynne Jr were injured and hospitalized at St Anthonys in fair to serious condition. Weldon slept in the back seat during the crash. Wynne, a Canyon state game warden, suffered lung contusions and possible abdominal injuries.

Skunk Peaches on Wrong Preserves From Perico Incident

C.H. Koester a Perico service station operator 25 miles northwest of Dalhart killed two skunks after one became trapped head first in a four ounce glass jar. The jar, containing berry remnants, caused the animal to struggle unable to eat or drink. A neighbor recalled discarding a similar jar the previous evening.

Paris report says Western foreign ministers urged Russia to accept a settlement formula rejected by Andrei Vishinsky. After a one hour French office meeting, Bevin, Marshall, and Schuman signaled willingness to be guided by Security Council principles, aiming for a Berlin settlement outside the UN.
