Plans were advanced across Panhandle counties to call bond elections for paved highways. Delegations from more counties prepared to meet Amarillo highway officials to study a cheaper caliche base penetration top system. Judge W. R. Ely of the Texas Highway Commission said state approval would come. The new method could cut costs from 20 000 25 000 to about 10 000 dollars per mile, speeding up U S 66 work in Oldham County.
Houston and Austin reports state Brig. Gen. Jacob Wolters ordered East Texas oil fields limited to 150 barrels per day to keep output under 400000 barrels daily. Milan Ohio October 27 A police guard was requested by Miss Marietta Wadsworth cousin and tenant of the little red brick house on Choate Street after souvenir hunters damaged Edison property around the birthplace of the late Thomas A Edison Villagers plan to establish guard around the site to curb the intrusions.
P. A. Forsythe, 60, was fatally injured yesterday when a team ran away and threw him from his buggy in Texarkana Texas.
Cadet Richard B. Sheridan, killed in the Army Yale football clash, will be buried with full military honors at West Point. The funeral is set for Wednesday at 4 PM on the Hudson bluffs, with cadets in army blue, a chapel service, and burial in the academy yard near famed past generals. Mrs. Sheridan recovered enough to approve the plan after visiting her injured son. Sheridan died from a broken neck suffered during the 6 to 6 tie at Yale Bowl.
Motor thieves took two cars in Amarillo on Monday night. Col. Erasmus Tack owned a Graham Paige sedan and B. F. Veale a Oakland coupe. Police issued an emergency broadcast via WDAG at 8 o clock with descriptions.

The Oct 27 storm spread from the Rockies to the Mississippi valley. Snow fell mainly in Yellowstone area, with mountain lows around 32 and Pueblo highs near 7d. Colorado largely escaped snow but Denver saw a 27 degree drop in 24 hours as Wyoming and Montana faced heavier snows and disrupted lines. AUSTIN Oct 27 Trial of the suit of T M Deal Oil and Gas Company of Amarillo against the Texas Railroad Commission was started in the 98th district court. Deal seeks cancellation of a commission order prohibiting gas production by oil wells from a non oil strata. The commission contends gas from non oil stratas is reserved for domestic or commercial use.
The Texas Supreme Court declined jurisdiction in the Robertson County motor truck dispute and remanded to the Court of Civil Appeals at Waco for reference. Sheriff V C Box sought a writ of prohibition against District Judge H F Kirby over injunctions on the state permit rule for for hire water trucks. The action was dismissed without prejudice as attorneys prepare to present to Waco.
Hereford Texas rancher W. Murray 58 died after an extended illness in Mineral Wells. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 PM in Plainview with Rev. E P Geiser of Hereford Presbyterian Church conducting. Murray is survived by his wife and several brothers and sisters in Indiana.
Barfield Lumber Company at 3101 Pierce Street was burglarized Monday night for the ninth time in a year. Thieves forced the door, damaged a safe and took about $10 in cash, with total loss around $30. Police and investigators logged fingerprints after a camera was used to document the scene.
A second trial in the slaying of Emilio Cortes Rubio and Manuel Garcia Gomez is scheduled for November 19 in Ardmore Oklahoma. Former deputy sheriffs William Guess and Cecil Crosby will be tried before District Judge Asa Walden. Guess previously acquitted of Cortes Rubio’s death but not yet tried for the other slaying.
Official circles welcomed in principle the Chinese arbitration treaty idea presented to League of Nations council chief Aristide Briand by Dr Alfred 82 from China. Tokyo warned that new treaties are pointless until China complies with existing ones and a separate ultimatum urged repair of the Noni River bridge within a week or Japan would take action in Manchuria.

She claims self defense and contends extradition papers will be obtained. a habeas corpus writ suspension is anticipated. A separate arrest warrant for Dr. William C. Judd accuses him of practicing medicine without a license in California.
