Small Town Airport Leader Showcases Farm Based Revenue Plan
Matt J. Ryan, manager of Marshall Minnesota Municipal Airport, advocates stable airline rates and use of farmland around runways to generate revenue. He credits a 46,000 dollar port cost with annual farm and alfalfa income totaling about 4,000 dollars plus 1,860 from alfalfa hay sales. He pitches public support, shared control, and practical airport contracts for small towns, urging local officials to keep airports as utilities with clear terms.
