A midtown Amarillo group moved from lighter sheet iron to a permanent coliseum plan after last night’s revolt against temporary structures. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal sparked interest with a proposed five year billion dollar program starting with a 1.75 million dollar coliseum. A joint six-member planning board from the city, county, and school district would coordinate exhibit and recreation facilities, including a new high school football stadium, to prevent overlapping spending.
