Licensing Law Gains Backing From Panhandle Agents
Sixty to seventy five fire and casualty agents met at Amarillo Hotel to back a Texas licensing law effective August. The rule requires state licensing of agents, under tighter supervision to curb unscrupulous practices and regulate rebates and commissions. J P Watson led the meeting with plans for district-wide hearings and officer elections in May 1932, while Rolla Cartwright was nominated for regional vice president.
