Ferguson says warrants to reimburse cattle owners will be issued

Questions Opinions Of Sutton In Plague Loan Questions

Greenville October 22 The consistency of two recent opinions by Sutton assistant attorney general on emergency payments to owners of livestock killed in foot and mouth disease eradication work is questioned in a letter by Senator Joe M Moore of Greenville. The letter asks why it would not be legal to pledge state credit for 400000 for reimbursement if it is legal to issue deficiency warrants of a like amount. Austin October 22 The number of legislators opposed to a called session at the legislature at this time reached fifty one. Those in favor numbered eighteen and undecided thirteen.

Bids Opened for International Harvester New Home

Bids for the International Harvester companys new building at Tenth and Grant were opened at 1 PM. Ten bids from Wichita Denver Indianapolis Minneapolis and others were received. Amarillo firms did not bid. The main building measures 100 by 149 feet with three stories a full basement a paved court and a service station. Officials expect to occupy the new branch next April as work progresses.
