Ex mayor Eugene S. Blasdel was mourned at a 2 PM service at Central Presbyterian Church in Amarillo. Dr. R Thomson led the funeral with burial at Llano Cemetery. Claude Hall, 28, died in Palestine Texas from injuries suffered when an explosion wrecked two business houses. Hall, who was working on a gas meter connection, was severely burned and lacerated after the blast occurred yesterday. initial reports underestimated his injuries.

Federal Court Handles Contested Docket Trials

The federal court docket moved slowly as 15 crim inal cases were disposed of with two pleas of guilty. Henry D. Caldwell admitted violating the Dyer Act and received 22 months in Leavenworth. Marvin Henchee got 30 days for liquor possession. Fred Vehmeyer pled not guilty to transporting a stolen auto. the trial paused for noon and will resume with a jury verdict later. Edward McAlester awaits sentence after pleading guilty. Caldwell indicated he would contest the case. George A. Ryan, father of two orphans, pleaded guilty Monday to passing a counter.
