The Gardner brothers Ray and Chester from Independence Kansas raced neck and neck for first and second in the five mile heat with C Gardner first in 5 31 6 and Ray Gardner second Rex Edmonds finished third. Rex Edmonds then led the Fronty Ford in the third five mile heat ahead of C Gardner and others.
