J. H. Simmons is in the county jail awaiting a prison van to take him to Huntsville Prison after being convicted of swindling and sentenced to eight years. He has accepted the sentence and the formal sentence has been handed down. He previously received a two year term in Crosby County in a similar case.
The Potter County grand jury returned 11 indictments including Napoleon Saunders for murder in the Ed Williams death, Clyde Mears for burglary and theft valued over $50, and Van Finchum for drunken driving. The jury will file its term report on county conditions tomorrow.

Opal Glenna Bosley, 10, daughter of Mrs. Frankie Bosley of 1520 North Garfield Street, died this morning of a heart attack. Survived by the mother and three brothers Clifford Tracy Weldon and C. E. Bosley. Body moved to Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements pending.
O. D. Douglas of San Antonio, president of the Texas Association of Life Underwriters, spoke to about 100 Amarillo insurance men at the Blackstone Hotel Coffee Shop. He urged cooperation to improve service for the insurance-buying public and continues a Texas speaking tour, heading next to Fort Worth for a breakfast engagement.
