Four people were critically hurt when a light sedan and a gasoline truck collided on Highway 66 at the southwest corner of English Airfield in heavy fog. Mr. and Mrs. R W McColloch of Tehacheaple California and their daughter Bobbie 17 were injured. Benton of Amarillo, driving the truck, was badly injured.

Consul General James Theodore Marriner was shot by Armenian Meguedrich Karayan who said he felt insulted after a passport visa denial. Frank Ong Amarillo Pioneer Dead At 76
Frank Ong 76 a longtime Amarillo pioneer died this morning at 10 46 in an Amarillo hospital after weeks of illness. He came to Amarillo in 1888 to work for the T Anchor Ranch and helped shape early city life. Survived by one son Clyde Ong and two daughters Mrs Margie Hetrick and Mrs Edna Ricks. Ong helped found city offices serving as first city marshal and later tax collector and assessor. He was a life member of the Elks Club and retired in 1920.
