Burned men from pipeline accident show improvement

Burn victims Lou Davis and Max Scott, seriously burned in a near Dumas pipeline accident, are reported resting fairly well at St Anthony's Hospital. Seven workers were burned when gas in a ditch ignited. four others are treated at a Dumas hospital and one was released. Davis has extensive burns over a third to half of his body. Scott's injuries are similar but less extensive. The incident occurred about 11:30 yesterday at Shamrock Oil and Gas McKee Plant. gas source remains undetermined.

Fellowship Supper and Book Review at First Christian Church

He succeeds Fountain Works who resigned to join Southwestern Portland Cement Company in El Paso. Cooley has been Shamrock Chamber secretary since November, previously managing Harmon County Chamber of Commerce in Hollis Oklahoma and earlier entering chamber work in Elk City.

Rev. Grooms to Key San Jacinto Church Banquet

Price Administrator Leon Henderson again urged Phillips Petroleum to delay a planned 25 cent per barrel crude oil price increase. Frank Phillips cited rising discovery costs and labor, material, and tax pressures as justification for an immediate boost, but Henderson said an investigation to reach a fair solution was already underway.

Draft Evasion Case Argued in Federal Court

Roy Helfenbein, Lipscomb County youth, faced draft evasion charges in a federal case before Judge James C. Wilson. Prosecution contends he had six teeth extracted to avoid service, while defense argues extractions were due to medical defects and pain. Funeral Services Conducted for Mrs McKinnon
