Amarillo voters will decide November 10 on a plan to refund $864,000 in bonds and warrants. City commission moved to prepare the issue and seek a legal opinion to avoid delays, with a potential tax rate of $1 per $100 valuation if approved. Outstanding bonds total $403,000 and warrants $461,000.
Visitors register in Dr J F Bromert office as the free clinic opens with Dr D E Whittenberg D C of Oklahoma City in charge. Whittenberg, a radionic diagnostician of national repute, offers free examinations through next Saturday. After diagnosis patients may receive advice and a referral to a physician of their choice. A separate note mentions a football game between Spanish and Irish Free States teams set for Dublin.
Mrs. L. A. Tate was complimented with a miscellaneous shower by Stitch and Chatter Club members at the home of Mrs. J. W. Weaver at 300 North Johnston Street. The group enjoyed sewing, conversation, plate lunches, and numerous gifts. Attendees included D. J. Blackburn, Carl Larsen, Frank E. King, J. A. Simpson, W. S. The Wesley Friendship Class of San Jacinto Methodist Church will meet at Mrs. Marion Hill's home at 203 North Independence Street Thursday from 3 to 5 PM for Bible study. The lesson begins with Matthew chapter fourteen and asks the question What Is Worship.
Delta Sigma Upsilon will entertain with its annual October Frolic at the Cactus Club Friday evening. The event is the regular Pan-Hellenic Council authorized dance and all are invited. The Soncy P T A will meet Friday at 3 pm at the school to discuss The School and Its Relation to the Child.
The S. S. class schedules a rummage sale Friday and Saturday at 304 East Fourth Avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harmon of 1918 Polk Street left Saturday for an extended visit in San Diego.
In Battle Creek Michigan Judge Paul Shafer ordered the pedigreed German shepherd Roxie to be put down after a bite incident involving 8 year old Barbara Pennock. Roxie’s defense claimed the dog acted playfully during the trial.
Football fans anticipate victory and celebrate with a Beat Pampa Dance at the Nat Friday evening hosted by Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda. George Breckenridge and his orchestra provide music for the event. Founders Day Dance follows Saturday at the Capitol Hotel. Dr. B R Crumby left Amarillo Monday for a trip in New Mexico.
