Amarillo Water Rates Challenged as Unfair
A resident J C Smith of 1301 North Taylor Street asked the Amarillo city commission to revise the water rate schedule, arguing current charges from 4 000 to 7 000 gallons yield a flat two dollar net, while smaller users subsidize larger ones. He called the plan a flying tackle and noted a 72 cent loss on his bill. The mayor promised careful consideration but no promise of change.
