Walky Talky Radios Back ROTC Patrols At Amarillo Games
Amarillo High School ROTC cadets employ three SCR 300 radios and a central unit loaned by the 142nd Infantry Battalion to monitor football games. Battalion Sgt Marvin Blair runs the central station, keeping contact with outposts around the field while Lt Don Bush oversees operations. An ROTC military policeman watches for disturbances and can summon police if needed. Radios also connect ROTC companies and Usher guidance, with honorary sponsors trained in operation.
