Guarantors Meet to Address Amarillo Exposition Deficit

Guarantors and directors of the 1925 Amarillo Tri-State exposition plan a 4 PM meeting in the Board of City Development rooms to discuss the fair deficit and ways to lower each pro rata share. The roster lists many firms and individuals pledging amounts totaling 15695 dollars as the total.

Coolidge Returns Home From Omaha Legion Event

President Coolidge left Omaha after addressing the American Legion convention amid a loyal reception. He warned that lasting peace requires tolerance and cast away hatreds. The trip included two gifts a gold watch from Washington state and a Texas Legionnaires ten gallon hat. The presidential train heads through Illinois Indiana and Ohio toward Washington arriving tomorrow morning.

Mitchell Fight in Legion Looms at Convention

Two Accidents on Sixth Street Highway End With Minor Injuries

A 14 year old boy Frank Lawler was struck by a motor car while riding a bicycle on the Sixth Street Highway near Tennessee avenue. He escaped serious injury with only bruises and was taken to safety by the driver. Earlier two cars driven by Mrs Dee Thornton and Mrs Finis Wright collided near Florida avenue and the highway. Both vehicles mounted the curb as they tried to avoid one another, narrowly missing the Hatcher barber shop. damage was slight and no injuries reported.

Pampa fair canceled for 1925 with permanent building plan

The 1925 Pampa fair is called off due to labor shortages during harvest. Directors plan permanent buildings for 1926 and the association has nearly a thousand dollars in the bank. Farmers seek help for harvesting and picking cotton.

Amarillo will welcome a Pearce Dental Supply branch from Wichita Kansas. Lt Green building on Taylor street will host a two day opening November 6 and 7 with a banquet for local dentists. Johnson’s Dominant Win Gives Senators 4-1 Victory

Walter Johnson pitched the World Series champions Washington Senators to a 4 to 1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Forbes Field. Johnson held the Pirates to five hits as Meadows and Morrison struggled, while Washington tallied eight hits and took the opener of the 1925 championship series before 45,000 fans.
