W P Black from Pennsylvania to Artesia New Mexico was in a two car crash six miles east of Amarillo when his car rolled over twice at noon. He suffers a possible skull base fracture and a broken collar bone and was taken to Northwest Texas hospital in Amarillo with his wife and sonNearby passerby W H Fuqua assisted and Dr B M Puckett treated him in his office before hospital transfer.

Rain Likely Tonight and Wednesday Cooler Temperatures

The forecast calls for rain tonight and Wednesday with a drop in temperatures. Historical highs and lows from one year ago were 67 and 40 degrees, respectively. Hourly readings today show 63 at 7 am, 67 at 8 am, 63 at 9 am, 60 at 10 am, 60 at 11 am, 61 at noon, 62 at 1 pm, 65 at 2 pm, and 45 at 3 pm.

Fair to Stage World Series Party at Amarillo Theater

The Fair theater in Amarillo, with The Globe, will host a major World Series party. The Gridgraph scoreboard is enlarged for clear viewing from all seats. A wire from the Pirates' field will relay plays to the stage alongside a circulating box score. John L. McCarty of The Globe will announce game features. Admission is 10 and 50 cents downstairs, 25 cents balcony.

Relics Unearthed Near Hurley New Mexico Ancient Burial Findings

Skeletons and relics dating 1100 years were excavated from an Indian ruin near Hurley, New Mexico by Wesley Bradfield of the School of American Research and the New Mexico state museum. Two carved shell bracelets depict coiled serpents among many ceremonial bones skulls and hundreds of earthen pots. The artifacts show birds and animals from the era.

Palmer ousted as fleet head in broad shakeup

Lergh C. Palmer was removed today as president of the Emergency Fleet Corporation and Elmer Growley of Boston named to succeed him. The ping board enacted a general personnel shakeup with resignations and new trustees, while Sidney Henry's position was filled by G. K. Nichols. Sheedy was relieved of duty in London and directed to report to the board.

Col Montgomery Adopts Two Amarillo Sisters

Santa Fe Refuses Compromise in Amarillo Rock Island Fight

Amarillo reels in a clash between Santa Fe and Rock Island over a proposed rail link from Amarillo to Liberal Kansas.
