New members Mrs. Harry Crabb and Mrs. I C Williams Jr were welcomed. Pauline Lakey Potter County Home Demonstration agent spoke on Fall Clothing and Accessories. Next meeting set for Oct 16 at 2 pm in the home of Mrs Alvin Law 619 Russell.
Gov Beauford Jester will proclaim October 13 to 19 as parent teacher membership week. The observance marks October 19, the Texas Congress founding anniversary in 1909. Organized by Mrs Ella Carruthers Porter of Dallas the congress has grown to 257196 members an increase of 35945 over last year. Texas ranks fourth in state membership. Committees of local associations are urged to enroll interested persons in child welfare during the week.
Betty Caldwell, daughter of Mr and Mrs G D Caldwell of 406 Virginia, wed Johnie J Cunningham of Amarillo in a Friday evening ceremony at the bride’s home. Dr Neal D Cannon officiated. reception followed with pink and white chrysanthemum arrangements. The couple will reside at 1604 Tyler after a wedding trip.
The group completed the garment making and purchasing project for Boys Ranch. Members discussed favorite books and Mrs. Charles Odell reported a visit to the Lubbock branch linked to the Amarillo group. The social hour followed with Mesdames H. J. Pankratz and A. L. Bacon welcomed, plus Preston.
