Plastic Surgeon Clue in Gem Theft Case
Police pursue a lone bandit who invaded Mrs. Sam Gabor Hilton's penthouse stealing about 500000 dollars in jewels. Two phone calls to plastic surgeon Dr. I Daniel Shorell provided clues the same man made the calls from different accents asking for Hilton's address and floor. The thief fled with a substantial jewelry haul and a leather glove and partial fingerprint were found.

Marvin Baldwin of Plainview escaped injury after his two place Cub Super Cruiser ran out of gas and landed between railroad tracks. The craft bumped over ties, then entered the Milam Grain Company shed doorway, wings torn, cockpit damaged but he walked away unhurt. He had been en route to Memphis to help dismantle a Flying Farmer display for the West Texas Cotton Carnival.
