The city completed what is believed to be Amarillo’s largest seal coating project. It covered 36.2 miles or 528.7 blocks, equaling 544 589 square yards. Work ran June 1 to Sept 16 with 150 carloads of materials totaling 54 691.53 dollars including 9 097.61 in liquid asphalt.
Republicans in Amarillo seek to arrange a brief Bricker appearance as he travels with Dewey on the campaign trail. Governor Bricker would speak in Denver on Oct. 23 then aboard a special train to Amarillo for a stop before a major Oct. 25 address in Fort Worth. Texas GOP organizers request Dewey Bricker headquarters to coordinate the stop.
