Crash Toll Now Two As Tiny Victim Dies

The death toll from a Tulsa area traffic crash rose to two as Barbara Thurston, 12 years old, died at Neblett Hospital after a head on collision eight miles north of Tulsa on the Amarillo Highway. Grandparents Mr and Mrs Murphy Hurd were seriously injured. Hurd, a deputy sheriff, sustained multiple fractures and cuts. The Hise car from Lubbock, returning from Amarillo, collided with the Thurston vehicle at about 5 pm. the Hurd car left a 33 yard skid mark before crashing.

Draft Call at 41 From Potter and Oldham Counties

Forty one men will be inducted into the armed forces in November from Potter and Oldham counties. The November quota was announced today at selective service headquarters in Austin. The 41 draftees are to be ready by November 24. Statewide draft total for November is 3,453 with 2,514 called in September and October.
