A year in jail was imposed on Sam Arnold, a Black man, by Judge EB C Nelson for a traffic fatality. Arnold failed to stop and aid after Edward Brynt, driver for Globe News, was knocked from his bicycle at Third and Harrison on June 23 and died from injuries. Arnold surrendered to police the following day and had remained jailed since.
