Funeral services for Mrs. Dollie McClain, wife of Wil Dorado wheat grower J. T. McClain, will be held at 2 30 p m Wednesday at Palo Duro Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Wildorado Cemetery in Amarillo under Black, a Funeral Home. She died suddenly of a heart attack at 49. She is survived by her husband, two brothers A L Thomas of Hereford and J D Thomas of Endee N M, and two sisters Mrs T M McBroom of Canyon and Mrs Jim LeGrand of Amarillo.
Captain Leo Uselding of the detective squad returned from Washington where he completed a course at the Federal Bureau of Investigation police school. He is on the FBI reserve list and may be called into federal service due to proposed increases in six man ranks.
County Agricultural Agent Ted Alexander reports no crop damage from grasshoppers in Potter County this fall while surrounding counties report hopper activity. He cites limited wheat growth and low planted acreage as reasons, noting migratory hawks also help reduce the grasshopper population. Far northern Potter County saw most damage last season, with no fall migration reported yet.
