London October 1 Official announcement states the home secretary will not bar Mrs Aimee Semple McPherson from landing in England on grounds of advocating controversial religious beliefs She must still satisfy immigration rules under the aliens order of 1920 at the port of arrival to be granted entry.
Six auto accidents across three eastern states and Canada killed nineteen people and left four critically injured. In Bristol Pennsylvania a train strike killed three men and three women, with mangled bodies delaying identification. A Massepeana Long Island incident sent four girls and a man to death and injured several others. Names include George Schwartz Madeline Doelel Mildred Stenholm Dagmar Stenholm Eleanor Rohling W H Colkitt Gaylord Neitzhammer Thomas Zimmerman.
Amarillo Airport Corp lists Whirlwind and Pitcairn Super-Mailwine flights. Passengers Kilgore Rus Sell arrived Sept 28 from San Diego and departed Sept 24 to St Louis, while Detroit district inspector G G Budwig supervised. Former Colorado governor William E. Sweet toured Amarillo en route to Texas where he backed Hoover after the Houston convention. Sweet, a longtime Congregational leader and 1923 Colorado governor, was hosted by Earl Hubbard at the Amarillo Athletic Club.
The Amarillo Tri-State exposition closes its nine day run with attendance exceeding 250000 and plans to move offices to 310 Polk street. The fair featured a rabbit show with 500 entries and expanded pet and dairy cattle divisions. Officials project a small loss but expect goodwill and future growth.
W. K. Hale, wealthy Oklahoma rancher, is docketed for trial for the third time in the Osage reign of terror murder of Henry Roan. Hale allegedly hired John Ramsey to kill Roan to collect a $25,000 life policy. Earlier trials in Guthrie and Oklahoma City ended in a hung jury and a life sentence, later remanded for separate trials.
Dr John Roach Straton of New York urged Amarillo and Panhandle voters to back Republican nominee Herbert Hoover. Speaking to 3000 to 3500 people at the Auditorium, he accused Governor Smith of Tammany ties and asked voters to reject him as unfit for president. He condemned Smith as aligned with graft and liquor interests and reviewed his clashes with police.
Fair skies and moderate weather were forecast for today's Dixie series clash in Houston before an expected crowd of about 12,000. Probable lineups feature Birmingham and Houston with listed infielders outfielders and pitchers.

C J Blackburn of Blackburn Brothers shows improvement after several days in Northwest Texan hospital. He rested well last night and was reported to be better this morning.
A 19 year old Delta Kappa Epsilon pledge Nolte McElroy of Houston died after an initiation shock at the University of Texas in Austin. The incident involved bed springs linked to city lighting wires and a rheostat. Grand jury consideration and university officials were cautious, with no inquest planned and relatives en route from Houston. Other pledges previously passed the stunt without harm.
United Press reports the district attorney will ask the grand jury to present 17 counts against fifty suspects in a bribery and bootlegging probe. Mayor Mackey plans a sweeping police shakeup with every officer reassigned within days.
William Brock and Edna Schlee, globe trotting aviators, piloted the Hollins monoplane over San Diego as they entered the forty third hour of endurance flight. They took off at 6 49 A M Saturday aiming to beat the 65 hours 25 minutes record set by Johan Risticx and Wilhelm Zhamerman.

Police closed in on the man who ran the Bourbonnais kidnapping operation tied to extortion of 65 000 dollars for Billy Ranieri held 13 days. Andrew Cappelano confessed and named others including the actual kidnappers. Authorities expect the case to crack the organized terror network affecting Sicilian families.
