Fire at Warwick No 1 Well Halts Drilling in Potter County

After a blast spread a gas cloud to the Amarillo Oil company Warwick No 1 well in Potter County, two men were seriously burned. The fire burned for more than 32 hours and was extinguished at 10 yesterday morning. Crews will lay groundwork and erect a new derrick with drilling expected to resume in about ten days. The well sits at 2360 feet. tools dropped when the cable line burned are expected to be recoverable.

New Rochelle New York November 29 Alice Jones Rhinelander wife of Leonard Rhinelander says her husband is being held prisoner by his family while she fights the annulment suit. Judge Swinburne reported she received a note from him saying to hire the best lawyer. Rhinelander had sued claiming she fraudulently presented herself as white at marriage October 14.

Christmas Cheer Gone Wrong at Houston Bootlegging Plant

Houston officers with a search warrant seized a bootlegging operation on the city outskirts. They confiscated 125 gallons of wine 28 gallons of white whiskey 1600 gallons of apricot mash and a 40 gallon copper still with a steady run. Also taken were 600 pounds of sugar 250 pounds of corn meal 100 pounds of rye and apricots.
