Hunt Mishap Victim's Body to Lubbock

Frederick C. Taylor 21, brakeman on the Santa Fe, died from an accidental shotgun discharge while duck hunting twelve miles southeast of the city. His body will be sent to Lubbock tonight and thence to Levelland for funeral services. he leaves a brother, parents, and other relatives.

Refinery Nears Completion in Panhandle

Good weather and crew efforts push Big Four oil refinery toward a December 1 initial run. Owner J. D. Wrather says the plant will begin operations two weeks ahead of the planned December 15 date, handling Panhandle pipeline crude.

H C Brock Dies at Northwest Texas Hospital

H C Brock 57 years old died at Northwest Texas hospital after an operation and is survived by a wife and baby son. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church with Rev R Thomson. burial at Llano Cemetery. Brock was a Santa Fe trainmaster and veteran railroad man.

Prison staff discharged after alleged mistreatment at Harlem State Farm

Houston Texas November 26 the state prison commissioner N W Sayle ordered two captains a sergeant and several guards discharged from the Harlem State Farm at Rosenberg for alleged inhuman treatment of two white prisoners late Tuesday.

G C Ratliff of Amarillo and T A Hague of the Southwestern Wheat Growers association each claim to be the first Amarilloan to kill a trophy deer this year. Ratliff and two companions killed two deer in northern Texas, one a four point buck, while Hague took a 250 pound buck in the New Mexico mountains earlier this week. The two men may meet to compare notes before awarding the Amarillo Leatherstocking title.

New Rebabbiting Plant Planned for City

Plans outline a Watkins Rebabbiting Service factory to be built here soon. Founder CC Ripley of Wichita says the plant will rebuild motors and employ about twelve skilled mechanics. The company already operates in Syracuse Seattle New York St Louis Memphis Waterloo Portland Toledo Atlanta Hartford Washington Wichita Indianapolis and Kingston Ont. Amarillo would be the smallest city to host a plant. Site details and other information are forthcoming as the Board of City Development supports the project.

Petition Hearing Continued In Milk Distribution Dispute

The mandatory injunction hearing filed by Robert C. Pool against the city over a milk distribution permit was continued to Friday morning due to absence of counsel. Pool's permit was canceled November 17 after the city inspector found he was selling milk from dairies lacking city permits. The city commission upheld the inspector and city manager. The case may test city dairy ordinances and is watched by inspectors and local dairymen.

Crawford victim of wreck not seriously injured

Lee Crawford of 692 Van Buren Street, found unconscious beside a wrecked car near Bushland, is much improved after suffering a badly broken jaw and minor injuries. He was found by Shannon Barton and taken to Northwest Texas Hospital where he works as a night watchman.

Farm Development Plan Aims Completion In January

Potter Oldham and surrounding areas advance an intensive agricultural development program. F M Cropper of New York with Henry L Doherty interests held lengthy talks with Amarillo Water Board officials on securing a better water supply. Cropper will remain several weeks. Man Found in Dope Stupor After Robbery Claim

Joe Wayburn known locally and staying at the Oriental hotel was found last night at the Maverick rooms in a dope stupor with about 1300 missing. Chief Felice Clark Cain leading the investigation says Wayburn’s car was found at the Santa Fe freight depot and a search is underway to determine robbery and foul play.

Trust May Own Stock

The Texas supreme court denied a writ of error in the Humble Oil and Refining case, ruling that ownership of majority stock by Standard Oil did not by itself violate state anti trust laws. The lower court concluded stock ownership alone does not constitute a breach, and the high court let that decision stand.
