Survivors of crash reach Vienna in rescue train

A U S Army rescue train bearing 12 Americans passed through Munich en route to Vienna after five nights on a Swiss mountainside. Brig. Gen. Ralph Tate said survivors remain shocked. Capt. Ralph Tate Jr and others suffered injuries. all were reported eating, some on soft diets, after chocolate rations.

Teachers Picket at St Paul Public Schools Strike Shuts Classrooms

MINNEAPOLIS Nov 25 A strike by union teachers closed St Paul public schools after a late salary offer averted a Minneapolis walkout. Pickets lined all 74 district schools with two to three on each entrance. About 1 000 of the 1 165 teachers joined the action demanding raises from 1300 to 2400 for beginners and up to 5000 for degreed teachers.

Panhandle Weather Drenched by Snow and Freezing Rain

Snow and sleet covered most of the Panhandle with a touch of winter as temperatures fell to 27 by mid morning and a low near 26 expected tonight. Crash Destroys Drugstore Front In City Collision

16 Safe in Sea Crash

The Coast Guard announced 16 survivors of a collision between two small vessels off the Florida coast were sighted and transported to Miami. The lifeboats were found at about 10:30 A M CST, after the vessels sank at 2:30 A M about 30 miles south. The rescued count was believed complete though 17 may have been aboard. An 83 foot cutter was sent to bring them to the coast guard base.
