New Haven Railroad trains bound for New Haven collided in a Park Avenue tunnel. Twelve people were injured, none killed, and emergency crews rushed to the scene. Police noted the trains continued for about six blocks after impact and one engineer was questioned later.
In El Paso on November 22, the Richard W. McGee sanity trial entered jury deliberations. McGee, convicted of fatally shooting Lubbock businessman R. L. Alliston in July 1948 with a death sentence, had been granted a reprieve pending a sanity hearing after a mistrial and transfer. McGee's mother Mrs. H. H. Stull of Pampa testified that the jury’s decision would mean life or death to her.
Rev. George W. Jordan, pastor of Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Atlanta, reported thieves took a watch and two rings from his home. He held a Thanksgiving service at the church in which he preached on robbery, and the stolen items were found at his front door last night.

In the Suez Canal Zone a bus carrying British personnel was ambushed by terrorists killing two soldiers and wounding two others. The attack occurred between Port Fuad and Port Said near the British family barracks. Unconfirmed reports said the bus included British families heading home to England. the past six days’ deaths total six.
A typhoon roared through the central Visayan Islands killing at least three persons and moving away from the Philippines today. The storm appeared to be heading toward the South China coast but had lost much of its intensity.
