WPA Sewing Room Chief Promoted

Don Boyd of Potter County elevated from superintendent of sewing room projects to WPA district assignment officer by district director Alson A Meredith. Boyd, a former Katy railroad personnel representative, opened the Athletic Building sewing room in 1934 and will assign and classify WPA labor in 26 counties.

The United Kingdom bought $835,000,000 of US goods in 1937, close to Germany France the Netherlands Belgium and Sweden combined. The US Canada trade pact replaces a treaty expiring Dec 31 and expands it. 1937 total trade with Canada reached $908,047,000.
