Philharmonic Opens Season With 73-Piece Panhandle Ensemble

The 73 member Philharmonic opens tonight at Municipal Auditorium led by Conductor Robert Louis Barron. Selections include Oberon Overture Mozart G Minor Symphony and Sibelius Finlandia. Guest pianists Jacques Fray and Mario Braggiotti return after last season’s Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue with the orchestra. Braggiotti also performs a two piano Ravel Bolero. New auditorium seating places the performers at floor level for improved acoustics and sight lines. Members must exchange for reserved tickets.
