Potter County Returns to Work Under New Deal

Thousands of relief recipients in Potter County begin 30 hour work weeks at 35 cents an hour under the Civil Works Administration. The Relief Board announced that by next Monday every able bodied man who wishes to earn a living will be employed, with projects on Llano Cemetery Thompson Park city streets and state highways near Amarillo. Explosion at Phillips Petroleum Plant Kills Two in Oklahoma City

Two men, Howard Lindimore aged 38 and A F Buland aged 37, were killed and another worker W C Hollingsworth was severely gassed in an explosion and fire at Phillips Petroleum Company’s gasoline plant in the Oklahoma City oil field.

Youth nabbed after three block chase by deputies

Amarillo youth Buck Russell, 23, was captured by four deputy sheriffs after a three block pursuit through buildings and alleys. Shots were fired as Russell fled, then he was found hiding in the basement of Draper-Ross Produce Company on Johnson Street.
