Architects contractors and Amarillo Independent School District board members will meet again to decide which features of the Stephen F. Austin Junior High School to eliminate or replace with alternates to bring the price below the available funds. The base bid stood at 1,699,055 plus about 100,000 in architects fees, with further cuts through eight of ten alternates and elimination of a two class units complex could save close to 180,000 to 200,000. Additional options include dropping an elevator and substituting steel windows and terrazzo alternatives. Funds were about 58,000 short before yesterday’s meeting for the Austin project and two other plans.

Six Navy Fliers Die In Crash On Rich Mountain

Blast Damages Truck Terminal at Ferguson Steere Transport
