Two Amarillo Marines are listed as wounded in action by the Navy Department in Washington. Pfc. Francis L. Bailey is the son of Mr and Mrs Sam R Bailey of 519 Cleveland Street and Pfc. Charles Hines Jr. is the son of Mr and Mrs Charles Hines Sr. Hines has been overseas since last December.

The Potter County Red Cross chapter seeks advanced first aid instructors. Beginning tomorrow night and continuing Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday nights next week, an instructors course will meet in the grand jury room on the courthouse fifth floor, directed by Melvin Buzzard.

Plans for manufacturing a launching propellant for American robot bombs were announced from Wright Field and Monsanto officials. Monsanto will build an $8,000,000 plant at Karnack Texas for robot bomb production, with Wright Field coordinating the program.
Ethel Barrymore, noted actress, was taken to Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital yesterday with congested lungs and reported to have passed a comfortable night, according to hospital updates released today.
British and Polish forces press west of Forli with Allied air support, taking St Tome and advancing toward Mount Casole and Bagno, while crossing the Montone River. German losses around St Tome reported heavy resistance but light British casualties. Adriatic sector highlights include capturing a rearguard near the Foss Chiaia canal and patrolling near Ravenna.
Seattle dispatch reports Captain James Donion Jr who survived Bataan and two and a half years in Japanese camps returns home to learn his wife has joined the WACs. He learns her two major ties are Neely Greenhill Lowndes Insurance.
A Swiss informant quoted by United Press says Adolf Hitler had a throat operation at Berchtesgaden after a tumor from an old illness. The report notes Hitler is at his Bavarian retreat and seeks to explain his long silence during a critical war phase.
Archbishop Luis Maria Martinez of Mexico issues a pastoral letter urging Catholics to defend their faith against Protestant propaganda. He says organized Protestant sects carry intense propaganda with substantial resources to take from Mexicans their Catholic faith.
