A thousand Navy personnel rioted in Honolulu using bayonets and hammers after a period of tension with local residents. Fifty were arrested, Lt. Blair Coleman was detained, and a 75 year old man, Joseph Guthridge, died likely of a heart attack while watching. Soldiers claimed attacks by locals described as gooks, prompting calls for order from police, shore patrol, and Marines.
Reports from Chungking say the Red Banner Army is pulling out of Manchuria in three directions toward northern Korea Vladivostok and Port Arthur as Chinese forces battle for control. Bivins and his brother in law J N Childers were en route to Alamogordo for a hunting trip. Childers escaped serious injury. The crash occurred about ten miles from the Shelton ranch.

Henderson reports a milking Shorthorn cow produced triplet bull calves at Syd Delamar Ranch. Each calf weighed 40 pounds. Sire Sunbean Director, bred by Miles Milhoan in Weldorado, is now owned by Delamar.

In Houston on November 18, union officials warned of a pending strike by 18,000 Southern Pacific railway workers in Texas and Louisiana. If ballots favor, a Dec. 1 walkout would disrupt transport amid a recent Greyhound bus strike, affecting Dallas to Houston service and the hospital grievance handling.
Washington November 13 The Labor Management Conference reconvened after Armistice Day with fresh friction. Richard Frankensteen CIO Auto Workers vice president alleged John L. Lewis secretly rejoined the AFL, a claim AFL president William Green dismissed as bunk. Associates of Lewis denied the report. Philip Murray CIO president said he knew nothing of it.
The House Military Committee rejected 15 to 12 a move to defer universal military training legislation to next year. Hearings will resume Thursday on the plan requested Oct. 22 by President Truman, with General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower as witness. Only one witness, Secretary of War Robert Patterson, has testified. The vote was in closed session. Chairman Mayor Kentucky did not disclose individual positions.
Senators Hatch and Willis condemned the Pearl Harbor investigation as doomed to fail due to partisan lines and access disputes. William Ross Ozier, 72, longtime Panhandle rancher and Panhandle Cattle Buyers and Sellers Association founder, died at his Amarillo home. Born October 9, 1873 in Henderson Tennessee, he moved to Texas 46 years ago, retired in 1928, and leaves widow Ida, daughter Mrs Dwight Newby, brother Dr J B Ozier, sister Mrs Steve Cooke, and three grandchildren Ross Allen Newby, Jack Shelton in Japan, and Mrs Earl Smith in Fresno.
Wrecking of Germanys munitions industry began with a series of blasts at a large IG Farben plant in Kaufbeuren. Lt Gen Lucian K Truscott said the action starts Germanys war potential as 14 explosions ripped through the facility, destroying 60 buildings while salvaging usable equipment, the plant valued at 45 million dollars.
Seoul Nov 12 Occupation headquarters reported a large ammunition dump holding about 130000 tons of impounded Japanese explosives blew up killing two American soldiers guarding it. A grass fire apparently ignited the dump.

President Truman announced the United States will join Britain to form an Anglo American committee to study the Palestine issue. The plan followed Truman’s proposal to admit 100,000 additional Jews, a figure Attlee found too high. Bevin told the Commons Britain also favors the committee but doubts Palestine can greatly help with Jewish migration from postwar Europe.
Price Administrator Chester Bowles told Congress he rejects demands of automobile dealers for higher retail prices on new cars. Bowles warned that democracy dangers arise from lobbying and disclosed upcoming price schedules with limited disclosed figures, noting cost absorption limits for 1946 and dealer profit implications.
