The body of Mrs. Jennie Lantz, 51, widow of a wealthy Detroit real estate dealer, was found in the basement near the furnace with a crushed head and evidence of a struggle. Neighbors reported she had not been seen since yesterday and police suspect she was killed yesterday afternoon during a possible robbery, though valuable diamonds were found inside the house. Mrs. Lantz had lived alone since her husband James Lantz died eighteen months earlier.
