Wage Hike Approved for 1.1 Million Rail Workers

Lone Nazi Plane Wrecks London Dance Hall

A lone German bomber hit a London suburban district last night wrecking a crowded dance hall and causing many casualties. Witnesses said the scene resembled a battlefield with bodies and injured among broken glass timbers and bricks. Two emergency mortuaries were established. Highway Patrol Foils Drunken Driver On Busy Street

On North East Eighth Avenue Saturday night patrolmen chased a vehicle believed driven by a drunken man. The car struck another vehicle and several people were injured as ambulances arrived. The driver was charged with drunken driving after a collision near closing time.

Coal miners return to work after strike surge

Burglar Arrested After Second Story Amarillo Burglary

Police report a man burglarized the Mark Galloway Drug Store on Polk Street by entering a second story via an upstairs office hole. He fled with 413 dollars from the safe and was captured in Pampa with 483 dollars in his possession. Other entries included Knighton Drug and two homes. The suspect, a negro named Jack Cooper, bought a bus ticket to Oklahoma City and was arrested.
