Jewel Reward Divided Among Amarillo Officials

Chief of Police Sid Harper and John Furbach will share a 2500 reward from Harry Winston via Pinkerton for recovery of jewelry stolen from an air express in Amarillo last November. Judge Gee split the sum with Furbach receiving 1000 and Harper the remainder after 250 in attorney fees. Three men were convicted in federal court in the Persian Princess jewel theft case.

Scroggins Plans Boxing Exhibition for Veterans

Ham Hamilton Marks 20th Anniversary Tire Service

Longtime Amarillo tire dealer Ham Hamilton celebrates twenty years since opening Ham Hamilton Tire Service in 1923. He arrived from Roswell New Mexico in 1920 and expanded to 202 West Eighth Avenue with a crew of 16. Services Arranged for Miss Margaret Irvin

Funeral services for Miss Margaret Irvin will be held at 4 PM at Boxwell Brothers' Funeral Home with Dr. R C Snodgrass officiating. The 22 year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Forest Irvin of 326 North West Eighth Avenue died Wednesday in an Austin hospital. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Collision Victim Still Unconscious in Dumas Area

Unconscious since a traffic collision near Dumas last night. Garland Roberts, patient in a local hospital, suffered a head injury when his car collided with a vehicle driven by Cliff C. Moore of 403 Florida Street. Moore had a neck injury and was treated at Moore County Hospital. Four men with Moore were uninjured. Roberts resides at the Cactus Ordnance Plant near Etter.

Glass Cut Victim Reaches for Dried Beans

Mrs. C. W. Alexander 205 East Sixteenth Avenue suffered a leg cut yesterday afternoon while shopping for groceries. She says a carbonated water bottle on a lower shelf appeared to brush her coat and glass shrapnel injured her leg as she reached for a package of dried beans.

President Roosevelt named Elmo Pearce Lee Sr. of Louisiana to be a judge on the Fifth Court of Appeals. The nomination follows former Texas Governor James V. Allred not receiving Senate confirmation for the post.
