Hot Pack Machine Aids Infantile Paralysis Care
A new hot pack machine for treating infantile paralysis patients was installed at Northwest Texas Hospital by the Potter County Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. The unit heats and dries woolen packs to ease suffering and lessen crippling after-effects, with a spin-type dryer leaving optimal moisture to retain heat. George Hammock, secretary of the local chapter, notes balance is needed to avoid scalding or ineffective warmth.
