Waco May 28 The post mortem on the Texas Democratic convention shows leaders shaping the result under Gov Pat Neff. Klansmen dominated the hall as delegates were jockeyed, McAdoo loyalists ousted Harper Kirby and the state delegation will travel to the national convention June 19 on a special train.
Lake Charles La May 28 Carl Christenson 30 and his mother Mrs Ja Christenson 60 surrendered to a sheriff and police after barricading themselves in their home for twenty hours They were brought to the parish prison by Sheriff Lyons at 10 am Entrance to the house was gained on arrival of a relative from Baton Rouge Christenson walked on crutches The mother defended him all day Both will be held in Parish jail for a sanity commission in connection with an earlier knife attack on A Duhon during which Christenson was seriously wounded and officers Lebley Johnson and Lyons were slightly wounded

Waco Texas May 28 a large Ku Klux Klan gathering is set for Lorena fourteen miles from Waco tomorrow night. The event recalls a fatal October 1921 parade in which Louis Crow was killed and several wounded during an attempt to stop a hooded march by Sheriff Robert Buchanan and deputies. A new sheriff is now in office and organizers expect a peaceful procession. It is unclear if the event connects to yesterday’s Democratic state convention outcomes.
The series of tornadoes across the South, mainly in Mississippi and Alabama, has killed 46 people and injured about 100, with extensive property damage over 1 million dollars. Oklahoma reports five dead and six injured, Arkansas three injured, while a Stringtown tornado killed Joseph Jett and four children near Stringtown, with Mrs. Jett fatally injured.
