Youth Wins Rodeo Prize At Buffalo Lake
Billy Martin of Amarillo won the fifth weekly Panhandle Outdoor Sports prize with a tiny perch caught at 7 15 Saturday morning. The perch wore Tag POSC 65 and proved smallest weekly fish earning a $35 tackle set from the Elks Club plus ice cream from Borden Company and other prizes from Indian Company Maxoil and Glen McKenzie toward cabin or boat permits.

Hospital Unit To Be Formed In Amarillo
Authorization has been received to activate a 500 bed station hospital as a provisional unit of the 468th Organized Reserve Composite Group. Col George O Pratt of the Veterans Administration Hospital will command. The unit will include 32 officers 44 nurses and 253 enlisted men to operate a 500 bed hospital in case of emergency.

Police Get 100 Dollar Reward For Gem Burglar Catch
The Jeweler's Security Alliance sent a 100 reward to Amarillo Police for the arrest and conviction of James Morton who burglarized the Diamond Shop at 514 Polk in January. Morton took about 335 dollars worth of merchandise, pleaded guilty and received a two year sentence.
