T B Milburn 51, a Brady farmer, was shot on his farm porch by a 28 year old relative who arrived with a companion. Milburn had just been acquitted on an attack charge. The shooter is jailed on a murder charge as details emerge from the May 21 incident.

Eight city jail visitors identified Tom McAfee as a recent highway robber.
News Globe pressman Jack Kaether was seriously injured when his car overturned on the Canyon highway near Amarillo. Assistant pressman Bobby Cunningham suffered bruises. both men were trapped for about 30 minutes and hospitalized.
Officials of Lucky Ten No 3 Smith rushed to the Panhandle oil field after the No 3 well began to gush. The well, shot with 60 quarts of nitroglycerine at 2,580 feet in section 11, block Y, Hutchinson county, initially flowed at 444 barrels per hour and was later estimated at 11,000 barrels per day.
Governor Rafferty plans a campaign swing through Sulphur Springs to campaign for the Democratic renomination. The act features her husband James B. Ferguson and several Ferguson family members among attendees. Ferguson said he would speak Wednesday at a Bohemian picnic in Wesb.
Stanko Jukich, 28, was executed by lethal gas at Carson City prison for killing 16 year old Jennie Madek. The case marks the second gas execution since 1921 with a quick, reportedly painless death after a brief onset of vapors and a special execution chair.
Captain Thomas J. Betts of the United States Army is released after two days in captivity by bandits in northern Yunnan province. The U S legation, via consul Myri & Myers at Yunnan-Su, reported release on May 19 by the local magistrate of Laitowpe.
Dallas Mayor Louis Blaylock issues a proclamation urging Dallas business leaders and citizens to support the Dallas Fort Worth Chicago air mail line. He warns that early Dallas and Southwest support will determine whether the southwest air mail service continues.
