Twenty six new U S citizens in federal court

In federal district court this morning twenty six persons were naturalized as U S citizens. The majority were Russians and three individuals were repatriated having won back citizenship lost through marriage to aliens.

Lightning Strikes Near Homes on Van Buren Street

Mrs G W Tower reports a lightning bolt struck near her residence at 1925 Van Buren Street, two doors away from Mrs Hattie Morgan at 1915 Van Buren Street. The strike hit a tree, created a large ground hole, and mud was thrown. Mrs Morgan was awakened and later found the hole near her home.
