Two Dallas Men Charged In Clover Club Robbery

Dallas police arrested Herbert Goins and Sam Lantrip for the April 23 armed robbery of Mr and Mrs Clarence Jackson at 2912 Ridgemere. The couple, returning from a night club, were held at gunpoint and $1449.90 taken from Clover Club proceeds. Bond set at 3500 each. arraigned before Justice of the Peace Bonita Wilkinson.

Rural Road Supporters Score Victory in House

In Austin on May 15, rural road forces secured two House votes signaling approval of their natural gas tax plan to balance the budget. Traffic lights in Amarillo failed last night causing hesitation at signals and conflicting red and green indications. City electricians and Southwestern Public Service crews investigated in the Polk Tyler area as bells rang across intersections. Signals were off at 11:30 pm with unknown trouble. officials expect a delay before normal operation resumes today.
