Swiss Cooks Rate at Top By Eleanor Roosevelt
In Geneva during the European trip, Eleanor Roosevelt notes Swiss restaurants rival global eateries, recounting a dinner at De Lor du Rhone with family and delegates. She describes Human Rights Commission sessions, a sunny porch, and social meals between sessions, then observes lake sailboats, beaches, and a public works project to protect the lake. A major Geneva fire at the Grand Theatre interrupted plans for Die Walküre.
