Committee to vote on utility commission bill

Minister Acquitted in Slaying of Cox in Lamesa
The Rev. W. E. Duke, Baptist circuit preacher from Klondyke, was acquitted of murdering J. A. Cox, a married gas station operator and father of four. The trial heard that Cox and Duke's wife had a three year affair and Cox was shot after Duke found them together on Feb. 6. The jury took three hours to reach the verdict.
