Man Loses Western Union Robbery Case in District Court
Bennery Mere Glen Phillips, 26, received seven and one half years in district court after pleading guilty to the November 27 Western Union office robbery. He will serve the term concurrently with a Dallas Western Union robbery sentence of five years. Phillips loitered, pretended to write a telegram, then pulled a pistol and demanded $91. He waived trial by jury and pleaded guilty before Judge Henry S Bishop and was represented by Gene Joran.
