Army Yields Air Mail Again to Private Lines
The Army resumed air mail with commercial planes on four routes as private lines take over. United Air Line carried 1,200 pounds of mail and six passengers from Newark to Oakland with Pilot Robert Dawson. Cleveland saw pilot R E Coulter relieve Dawson. Trucker Killed in Major Nitro Blast Near Kress
A nitroglycerin truck exploded six miles north of Kress, killing driver Bill McKinney of Odessa and scattering wreckage over hundreds of yards. Watchman Arraigned In Death Of Farmer
John Selvidge a special refinery watchman faced murder charges in the slaying of 25 year old farmer Ben Brightwell. Brightwell’s body with three bullet wounds was found on his farm south of Henderson after Selvidge led officers to the scene and surrendered with a 30 30 rifle used in the shooting.
