Amarillo Chamber of Commerce pressed for a mail star route from Amarillo to Perryton to aid business. Rex Baxter says Roy Martin confirms the route’s advisability is under study. The goal is to cut a several hour mail delay, as Perryton night mail currently stalls about seven hours in Spearman.
Mme Louise Homer, 76, a leading contralto with the Metropolitan Opera for 20 years, died at her Winter Park Florida home after a five week illness from a heart ailment. Wife of composer Sidney Homer, she retired in 1932 after a storied career across Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles opera stages. The Homers observed their 52nd wedding anniversary in January.
Amarillo student Johnny Bryson editor of the university Ranger is brought to Life Magazine in New York by Bob Girvin head of the domestic bureau. He visits Rockefeller Center offices and meets department heads during the May issue preparations.
